All courses and sessions are usually one or two day in duration. Sessions are a mixture of theory, practice and interactive sessions. Fun and enjoyment are key without losing sight of the important messages you want to deliver. Cost for all courses/work are negotiable and with no hidden costs, all quotes are final and maintained for 3 months. |
Drug and Alcohol Misuse, Use and Addiction More and more people are expressing that their drug and alcohol use is problematic when being seen by services or after having work related problems. Therefore knowledge of simple addiction issues can assist in the care of people from so many backgrounds and cultures. Managers who gain knowledge may cope with asking colleagues if they have problems without them feeling threatened or victimised, and may notice that there are areas of their work that can be improved by simple and non clinical interactions. More and more services in these difficult times are also employing people who have minimal training in specialist knowledge and a course delivered to cover specific areas can be designed and ongoing clinical supervision can be organised and commissioned. The one or two day courses will look at basic drug street names, classifications, sign and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal, why people use substances and some treatment options. These basic courses are not designed to make people experienced practitioners, but to feel more confident if clients mention they or a loved one has an addiction problem. More detailed courses and sessions can be added. This increased level of confidence will prevent unnecessary referrals and more comprehensive and consistent care. I currently deliver training sessions to a local education establishment working with apprentices on drugs and alcohol, this session is 2 hours long and is in the form of a quiz with additional information delivered when questions are answered. The DANOS and KSF criteria needed to maintain contracts is covered in the link below, and so all training will have a focus and meet many of the needs services and organisations need to meet, at a fraction of the cost.
